38 Weeks, 1 Day

Well I am 38 weeks now into my pregnancy - almost to the finish line. We are ready...at least I think we are?? The nursery is set up, his clothes and blankets are washed, the car seat is installed and we have met with his pediatrician. We just need a baby now. I had my first internal at Tuesday's appointment - no dilation what so ever and I have had no contractions. Doctor said she has a feeling Jackson is going to be alot like his daddy and need an eviction notice. Brent was almost a month late and didnt want to come out of his moms belly. Which I am REALLY hoping does not happen. I would love for it to happen the way its supposed too - having my water break. I would love to be able to labor at home for awhile before having to go to the hospital. My fear is having to be induced and being stuck at the hospital, in labor for 36-72 hours. So each appointment from here on out I am anxious to find out if I have made any progress. God has a plan though - he has to come out someway and someday so I know there is light at the end of the tunnel.

My ultrasound 2 weeks ago showed that he is STILL A BOY, a good size, healthy baby. We are so happy to hear this. All organs look good and is in position. He was doing the sucking motion with his mouth during the ultrasound - SO CUTE to see by the way. And he looks like he is going to have daddy's nose. :)

We had yet another awesome baby shower last weekend thrown by the best sisters imaginable. It was an All-Star Baby Shower theme, because Brent and I are so into sports. Let me just tell you we are SO blessed to have the family and friends that we have. This kid is going to be SO fricken spoiled. We got so many nice things for Jackson - he is all set till he is at least a year old. Below are some pictures from the shower - its a day we will definitely never forget. Thank you Mel for taking all the awesome pictures.

Finally here are some pictures of the nursery. We do not have our glider yet, but you can get an idea of how we decorated it. I didnt want to go to overboard. As Pat says, I am a plain and simple type of gal, and thats exactly what I did with the nursery. No real theme to it, just boy colors. Most of the stuff on the shelves and walls are all stuff that we received as gifts.

36 Weeks Along

Today marks 36 weeks into my pregnancy. They say its coming down to the wire when everyone starts asking you if you have popped yet - that is starting to happen. Brent and I are trying to get all the last minute stuff ready, talking with our new pediatrician, last minute shopping and setting up nursery. This Saturday is my last baby shower. I told Brent that Sunday we will be at Babies R Us all day picking up the last minute goods and putting all the stuff together. He was super excited to hear that....NOT!!! I am now going to the doctors once a week for checkups. No contractions yet but my doctor said I should start feeling them soon....Not sure what contractions are supposed to feel like, but everyone says I will know. I took a slight fall yesterday trying to chase after Koda. It was a gut instinct for some reason to go after him. I tripped and fell flat on my stomach. I am ok but my body is sore and was really shaken up and mad at myself for trying to do something so stupid. I have felt more and more clumsy these last few weeks - Brent has noticed it too and makes fun of me at times. It gets me really emotional that I am this way. I know its just the hormones though and in 4 weeks or less it will be over.

The fear is starting to set in for me as far as labor - who, what, when, where and how it will all happen. My plan is to labor at home as long as possible and to go as long as possible without pain meds, so I am not confined to the bed - NOT med free though. I have no idea of my pain tolerance so we will see how long I last exactly. The anticipation is setting in too. I cant wait to meet Jackson. Who is he going to look like, how big will he be, will he have hair. All of this thinking is what keeps me up all night and why I cant sleep.

Tomorrow I go in for another ultrasound to see how he is cooking and to see approx how big he is going to be. Its been since week 18 that we have seen him so I am excited for that.

How far along: 36 Weeks

Total weight gain/loss: up 22 pounds

Maternity clothes: Maternity pants (but starting to get tighter) and regular shirts.

Stretch marks: Surprisingly, still no visible sign. I have a feeling they are going to creep up in the last few weeks.

Sleep: Still up at all hours of the night.

Best moment this week: Another week of him still cooking.

Gender: BOY!

Movement: All over!

Belly button in or out?: OUT!

Craving: Chocolate Cake

What I miss: Feeling like my normal self.

What I am looking forward to: Seeing Jackson on the screen tomorrow, my shower this weekend and CAKE!! :)

34 Days left

Yesterday I hit 35 weeks along with 35 days till my due date. I am getting anxious - and VERY nervous. I can tell that Brent is nervous as well - he looks like he has a million things running through his head right now. Its a life changing event, of course soon to be dad and mom are going to be a little bit of everything. I have been feeling GREAT this whole pregnancy up until last week. My legs are and feet are starting to get swollen (which is wonderful its only happening now because I have been told this can happen much earlier on in pregnancy) and I am starting to slow down alot. I can tell in my exercise routine and when I get home from work. I just want to crawl up into bed and sleep. I have no energy to cook anymore. Which is not good because Brent and I are on pretty strict diets, and I can barely reach over the counter anymore to do dishes. Ha!! I cant say I am at that "point" yet that I want him out, but give me a few more weeks and I think I will be saying that.

Other then that just enjoying our last few weeks of freedom. Also getting the nursery ready and crossing off our "to do list" before Jackson arrives. I cant believe in 2 weeks I will be considered "full term" and he can come anytime after that. I have been having dreams that he is going to come early. My guess is the end of this month or first week in May. We will have to see.......

How far along: 35 weeks & 1 Day

Total weight gain/loss: up 21 pounds (from last week) Won't know how much I am up till my doctors appt next Tuesday. I dont like to weigh myself at home.

Maternity clothes: Maternity pants (but starting to get tighter) and regular shirts.

Stretch marks: Brent says he still does not see any visible sign of stretch marks. (he could be lying to me though)

Sleep: Cant seem to get enough of it.

Best moment this week: Hitting the 35/35 mark.

Gender: BOY!

Movement: All over!

Belly button in or out?: OUT!

Craving: a chocolate chip bagel with cream cheese.

What I miss: A normal sleeping pattern.

What I am looking forward to: My 2nd Shower next Saturday. :)

44 Days Left

Today marks 33 weeks and 6 days into my pregnancy. Still so much to be done. I started washing sheets, clothes, burp blankets and anything Jackson will be touching. I have finished purchasing the oh not so pleasant stuff I will need after he arrives for my recovery. We have put together all the furniture, now just need to start putting pictures on the walls of the nursery. When it is finally done, I will post pictures.

As far as the gestational diabetes, that is going ok. I still complain about it at times and get frustrated. My fingers are numb from having to prick myself 4 times a day, but all in all it is going good. I had a doctors appointment yesterday and my doctor looked at my food log. Carbs definitely make my numbers spike more (oh how i love carbs) but that I seem to be controlling it well by eating everything I am supposed to be and in moderation. The constant exercising is helping as well. Last Saturday night we went to a friends house and they made enchiladas and rice, I didnt care about my numbers and ate as much as I wanted too. My doctor said that was ok to splurge every now and then. And boy I did splurge, I almost needed to be rolled out of the house. I have had a VERY smooth pregnancy so far, so if this is all that is wrong, then its not so bad.

I did ask the doctor if she had to make an estimated guess on how much little Jackson weighs right now, she said her guess would be roughly about 5 lbs. I said WHAT? Are you kidding? From this point on baby will gain an average of 1/2 a lb a week and I have 6 weeks left so that would put me at an 8 lb baby. I asked if baby and I needed to go on a diet. She said there is nothing that I have done wrong, that I have hardly gained any weight to begin with. That 8 lbs is almost average these days. I didnt think someone of my size could push an 8 lb baby out. Apparently it can happen. This just makes me more and more nervous about the day. Here is where I am at to date......

How far along: 33 weeks and 6 days

Total weight gain/loss: up 21 pounds

Maternity clothes: Maternity pants (but starting to get tighter) and regular shirts.

Sleep: Sleep hasnt been to bad the last week.

Gender: BOY!

Movement: Still all over the place.

Belly button in or out?: Suddenly popped out!

Craving: A BIG bowl of pasta and endless salad and breadsticks from Olive Garden.

What I am looking forward to: Easter Sunday Brunch - you can bet it will be a splurge day. :)

Dodgers Spring Training

Just thought I would share a few pictures from Dodgers Spring Training in Arizona at Camelback Ranch. If you know the Garza's, they are HUGE Dodger Fans. (Which doesnt make it easy for me being an Angel fan). Brent and Bob went on there own and well lets just say by the looks of the pictures, they were just in awww by the whole experience. Since we are Baseline Box Season ticket holders, they were treated like VIP the whole time.
